Breweries in Dunedin Near The Pinellas Trail

Craft Breweries on Pinellas Trail

Sign at entrance to Dunedin, FL

Our journey of enjoying local craft beers close to the Pinellas Trail takes us to breweries in Dunedin Florida. Our first trip of breweries in Tarpon Springs and Palm Harbor was just north of this city named for the Scottish Gaelic version of Edinburgh. Dunedin is a great city to take a day trip or stay for a vacation. It’s the spring training home of the Toronto Blue Jays and has one of the top rated beaches in the United States. And just as exciting – there are seven local breweries in Dunedin located just off the Pinellas Trail.

Breweries in Dunedin Florida

Antibrewery

Anti Brewery, one of many craft breweries in Dunedin FL has a variety of beers that rotate every week

Located at 1367 MLK Jr. Avenue

Tired of the same old, same old beer? Antibrewery is too. A minimalistic space with ripped seating, Antibrewery seems to want to show how much they don’t care.  But thankfully they care about beer. With only 4 or 5 beers on tap at a time due to small batch brewing, everything they have is great. All their music is played on vinyl on an old fashioned record player giving it even more of a trendy feel. Note: Stations is open  as the workers also work at another local brewery.

May We Suggest: Anything they have since they rotate out quickly (but if you can catch One, get it)

7venth Sun

Beer on the patio at 7venth Sun Brewery, craft brewery in Dunedin

Located at 1012 E. Broadway

7venth Sun is in a cozy space across the street from the Pinellas Trail. Very relaxed with an open aired atmosphere, 7venth Sun is one of the older breweries on the Pinellas Trail. Great bartenders and friendly customers make drinking their award-winning beer even tastier (they’ve received accolades from the World Cup of Beer several times). It’s also one of the few in the area that is a female owned and operated brewery.

May We Suggest: Graffiti Orange

Woodwright Brewing Company

Located at 985 Douglas Avenue

Head directly east from 7venth Sun about a block and a half and on the other side of the Pinellas Trail. You’ll find Woodwright Brewing. Specializing in German beers they have an indoor a tasting room and outdoor beer garden. With a more formal atmosphere (you won’t see many kids since they aren’t allowed in the beer garden area) Woodwright is a great selection for an adults night out.

May We Suggest: Hefeweizen

Dunedin Brewery

Located at 937 Douglas Avenue

Let’s call Dunedin Brewery the granddaddy of the Pinellas Trail breweries. In business for over 20 years, and another World Cup of Beer award recipient, Dunedin Brewery is also the only brewery on this list that’s a full service kitchen and menu. If you order some food give the pretzel bites with ale mustard a try. With multiple seating areas to host large groups of friends, local musicians and a great food and beer selection, prepare to spend a little extra time at this stop.

May We Suggest: Red Head Red

Cueni Brewing Co.

Beers on the back patio of Cueni Brewing

Located at 945 Huntley Avenue

Hop back on the Pinellas Trail a quarter of a mile south to find Cueni Brewing Co. A family owned business, Cueni (pronounced cue-knee) is a welcoming spot to relax. Their outdoor seating is steps from the trail while the indoor area is relaxing and welcoming.

May We Suggest: Summer Session Ale

HOB Brewing Company

Located at 931 Huntley Avenue

Run by the owners of Dunedin House of Beer, HOB Brewing Company is the result of wanting local brews in the House of Beer. HOB Brewing offers a huge back patio to relax and enjoy your beers. They also hold private events and feature local musicians.

May We Suggest: Peanut Butter Blonde

Dunedin House of Beer

Back fence on patio at Dunedin House of Beer

Located at 927 Broadway

With over 40 taps of house and guest brewery beers, this is a large space that is more bar than local brewery. With their beers on tap in over 100 locations in the Tampa Bay area, Dunedin House of Beer brews in the warehouse directly behind the bar and is now HOB Brewing Company. It’s a great place to cool off and end your tour – their back patio is large and has a cool fence with paintings of dogs.

May We Suggest: There are too many beers available to name just one!

Renting a Bike

There are several places to rent a bike on the Pinellas Trail so you can enjoy the breweries in Dunedin. There’s a bike rental at the Best Western Yacht Harbor Inn and rentals at Kafe Racer, which has regular bikes and ebikes.

Where To Stay

With even more breweries located downtown and plenty to do in this small town, an overnight stay in Dunedin is a great idea. A solid hotel choice in Dunedin is The Fenway. A part of the Marriott chain, the hotel is over 90 years old and recently renovated. It’s located close to downtown and the Pinellas Trail. They also have bikes available and a roof top bar with stunning views of the water and sunset. There are also home rentals available in the area as well.
